Dual Views - A Side Project Week 30

I was trying to photograph the lesser nighthawks hunting against the warm golden sunset when I heard a familiar bird call. I shifted my attention and turned around to see this Northern Cardinal strike a hero pose.
I’m quite happy I caught him; I’ve not been able to get a good clean photo of this bird yet. It was still very hot outside so my image is very noisy even after some post process work.
It seemed to me like a logical idea for the first of the month to be when we take the week 30 photo. So we did. This post should have gone out a day or two after our photos were taken, but with Theo’s emergency on the third it is only now, some ten days afterwards, that I am publishing it. Insert very big sigh here, at life for doing what life does.
